I was so smitten by the costumes in the Golden Compass, and for this cap at least, one wonders: how often can something so desirable be achieved so easily? I whipped this up in an evening and thought I would share.
If you are lucky you will even have some yarn in your stash that will work.

k. worth
what gauge is the big fat yarn you used? Is it super-bulky, so that whatever that Lion Brand yarn is that’s really fat would work? (sorry if this is intelligible.)

The gauge for this pattern is 7.5 stitches and 10 rows in 4 inches or 10cm. I would say that any yarn with suggested gauge of 7 – 8 stitches to 4 inches or 10cm would be fine.
I am not familiar with the yarn you are asking about, but if the suggested gauge is close and you like it, it will probably work.
I hope you enjoy the pattern and your hat.
